Today is our 32nd day in Germany. We have been here for over a month now, and I feel much more confident.
Recently, a group of people from Murcia came to Germany to spend about a week here. They go to the same school as us, so we see each other in class.
They have a different programme with other kinds of excursions. The thing is that they invited us to join them for a few days. So today, we are all visiting a farm.
We got there by bus and, once we arrived, we saw lots of animals, such as pigs, goats, sheep, hens and chicks.
A tourist guide explained to us how the animals live, what they eat and things about their pregnancies.
We were able to feed and touch some of the animals.
We also learned how pigs, hens and other animals are slaughtered for meat. She explained that this method is less painful and stressful for the animals than methods used in other farms or large-scale industries.
After visiting the farm, we met another woman who showed us how to make Bretzels. We learned quite quickly and were able to make three Bretzels each one.
One interesting thing about this food is that they apparently use bleach to give it that distinctive colour. After bathing them in bleach, however, you have to put them in the oven. This way, all the harmful properties of the bleach disappear, but the colour remains.
