Today we were lucky and had a beautiful, sunny day. We decided to take advantage of it, and so we went on a two-hour trip to Ettal (Bavaria) to visit a famous castle named Linderhof Palace (Schloss Linderhof).
It was one of the many castles that King Ludwig II owned when he ruled Bavaria.
We took a tour of the inside, and honestly, when I saw the rooms for the first time, I was left speechless.
The walls were decorated with mythological and historical scenes. In every corner and on the ceiling, you could see true gold (or silver in one of the rooms) forming beautiful shapes. The big, heavy, expensive porcelain statues were another feature that couldn't be missing. They represented people, animals such as peacocks, or flowers.
Everything was very extravagant, with all of those statues, colours and gold.
The castle was surrounded by enormous gardens which were basically a forest and green fields.
It was a stunning place, and I would love to visit it again if I had the chance.
